To start the week, we began with the culture section. The section I was responsible for was El Cerro Santa Lucía. El Cerro Santa Lucía, otherwise known as Santa Lucía Hill, is the birthplace of the city of Santiago, Chile. Today, it is a park filled with many trees, plants, and other beautiful vegetation. The hill also provides a wonderful view of the city of Santiago.

After finishing with the culture section, we began with the chapter itself. We began with clothing. To start, we obviously needed to learn vocabulary for clothing. Then, we learned to say how clothes fit or looked.

This week we started a new chapter, chapter six. We started off the chapter by talking about trying clothes on and talking about how something fit. We first learned all new vocabulary. We learned the basic names of clothing items and clothing outfits. We learned verbs and phrases commonly used in a store such as to exchange something, cambiar. We practiced using the phrases quedar (le), verse, and sentar (le) to say how something fit, how a person looked, and to say how something looked on a person. We also learned the names of certain things you would commonly find in a store such as a price tag, la etiqueta, or a cashier, el cajero. Lastly, we learned adjectives that we could use to describe how a piece of clothing fits or looks on a person. If you wanted to say it was loose you would use the adjective flojo, or the opposite tight, apretado.
